GLEN SPEAN AND THE GREAT GLEN

The Great Glen is the massive geological feature which splits Scotland into two parts. Latterly, this glen has been turned into a canal network incorporating 22 miles of man made cuttings and 38 miles of natural locks - Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness. The Northern End of Lochaber is also where you will find Glen Spean, home of the ‘Parallel Roads’ and Achnacarry, seat of the Clan Cameron and recently famous for scenes from Rob Roy.

Further North along the Great Glen lies Loch Ness, home of the Loch Ness Monster (?), and Urquart Castle
