GLENCOE AND LOCH LEVEN

One of the most spectacular ways to arrive in Fort William is from the South, along the A82 through Glencoe; this should give you a first taste of the Highlands. Glencoe is as tragic as it is beautiful and while today mountains such as Buchaille Etive Mor, the Great Shepherd of Etive, are a haven for mountaineers and hillwalkers it was a different story in 1692, the time of the Massacre of Glencoe.
